I suppose adding new features to the site is all well and good, but I wish they would get some of the existing features to work better first

I rolled over when the alarm went off this morning and felt that familiar sensation of fluid in my lungs. This will be my 6th episode of Pneumonia in the last 15 years.

It isn't bad enough to seek treatment yet so I'm waiting until friday or Saturday. I'm to busy to take time away from work since it isn't causing any problems yet. Also, to go in this early, the Docs' might not be able to see it in the exrays or hear it with the stethescope but I bet by Friday it will be rattling pretty good.

Stay well, and Sin Boldly

Disappearing blogs

I've been reading the "Blog Parlor" by Mizzkittka for some time. Sunday morning she wrote a thoughtful piece (not unusual for her) and I wrote a terrific response. (tongue firmly in cheek)

Sunday afternoon I wanted to see other replies and follow the string but her blog was not to be found in my watched blogs list. Seems the whole blog has been removed.

Question,

If a member turns off their profile does their blog become hidden?
Or does this mean she just left the site and canceled her profile completely?

I love reading the blogs on this site for entertainment and because they often address SEX.

you decipher the code and find the blog and let me know what you think of it.

hmmm the sensors got to this one and edited out the address. guess you can't mention anything off this site

Anyone want to speculate on how many new members there will be because NoStrings gets a mention in the movie "Because I Said So"

I'm guessing there will be a spike in standard members that just cruise thru the site for a day or two in order to satisfy their curiosity and then they will disappear.

So our cupid matches will be full of men and women who are short timers and won't ever read the email sent to their one day nickname profiles.

Does NoStrings occasionally make changes in the profiles

I haven't looked at my profile in probably a year. I was amused to see some of the answers. Some of them I remembered having filled in, but some of them were just plain wrong.
I'm guessing that in the case of the wrong answers the questions were not part of the questionare when I filled it out. They subsequently added the question and then provided a response in my profile.

What a hoot

My NoStrings "matches"

I wonder what happens to all the women near my location that are supposedly a match. Seems every week I look thru that list and there are 2 listed as last visit today. Then there are a few that are listed as last visit in the last 3 days.
then there are more that haven't been on the site for a week or month.

My impression is there are a lot of women that register on the site and fill out the profile but only visit the one time. They don't seem to visit the chat rooms or blog.

Anybody else think a lot of women come to the site, check it out for a day, and then never return.

I'm wondering if the IM on the NoStrings site is linked to the profile. I recently turned off my profile and since then, the IM doesn't work. It tries to connect and then quickly disconnects. Leaving me to wonder if your profile has to be viewable in order to use the IM to see who is online or to cam. My cam will not broadcast either since turning the profile off.
Anybody know?

I searched the world over and I thought I'd found true love. You met another and pffffffft you were gone.

I'm feeling a bit abandonded. It was just a year ago that I brought home an Australian Shepard with the intention of teaching him to help me handle the cattle. All had been going well. I thought we had become the best of Buddies. If I went in the house he would lay by the door and wait for my return but over the last few days, as soon as I close the door he takes off. It seems he has found a new friend. There is a red and white bull calf in the pen. He stands by that calf all day. He walks under it, around it and even puts his front legs up on its side high up on it's shoulder. The calf doesn't mind.

I wanted him to be a cattle but it seems he thinks he is part of the herd.

I brought him in the house,,, but he had to go back out. He has been rubbing against the bull so much he smells like the bull.

Right now I just think it is amusing but I am wondering if his being so intimate with the cattle will interfere when it is time to control them. I tested him this afternoon and he worked them on command. I bet it was a little confusing for all of them. They are use to him quietly walking among them then all of a sudden he is barking in their face and nipping at their heels.

Maybe he isn't feeling so much affection for them as he is just using their body heat to stay warm in this suddenly colder weather.

cut and paste blogging

Just thought I would joing the ranks of the cut and paste bloggers with this piece

I agree with it so I'll post it.

"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right? The same magazine that employs Michael (Qurans in the toilets at Gitmo) Isikoff. Here I promised myself this week I would be nice and I start off in this way.

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I starting thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?''

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all involved. Whether you are rich or poor they treat your wounds and even, if necessary, send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home, you may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of having a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes; an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?

Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a 'dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells. Just ask why they are going to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book and do a TV special about how he didn't kill his wife but if he did. Insane!

Stop buying the negative venom you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.

I close with one of my favorite quotes from B.C. Forbes in 1953: ''What have Americans to be thankful for? More than any other people on the earth, we enjoy complete religious freedom, political freedom, social freedom. Our liberties are sacredly safeguarded by the Constitution of the United States, 'the most wonderful work ever struck off at a given time by the brain and purpose of man.' Yes, we Americans of today have been bequeathed a noble heritage. Let us pray that we may hand it down unsullied to our and theirs.''

I suggest we sit back and count our blessings for all we have. If we don't, what we have will be taken away. Then we will have to explain to future generations why we squandered such blessing and abundance. If we are not careful this generation will be known as the ''greediest and most ungrateful generation.'' A far cry from the proud Americans of the ''greatest generation'' who left us an untarnished legacy."

several readers but very few leave comments. I am aware I don't write exciting stuff, but I guess my hope was that peeps would comment and start a conversation.

So if ya read this piece of crap what would make it more interesting?

Tell me ya don't want me to start discussing politics, economics, or the fine arts of HVAC on here! I might resort to just such a thing cuz I'm boring. Never bored, but boring.

My life is being swallowed up by working for a small struggling company that has potential. But within the company I keep wearing more hats.
I do research for them. I search for parts that can be adapted to make the equipment more efficient and cheaper. Cheaper to build, install and operate.
Then when parts are located, I have to order them, and then install them and test the theory. If the parts work out, then I have to encorporate them into the design.
Lately, I have been going out to potential and gathering data about their heat use and waste. If I can identify where heat is being wasted, I then start working on a plan to recycle the heat back into their process.

are comming at me very fast. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone. Very little changed this year except that things picked up at work and now I don't have much time to play or chat and sometimes I'm just to warn out to even send messages to anyone.

So I hope anyone who happens to read this blog has a Merry Christmas and a happy new year
