For me, the pleasure I get in blogging is in the interaction. I have always tried to respond to comments within a day or two, otherwise the 'conversation' goes stale. So.... you're welcome (though you probably weren't thanking me specifically) Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I tend to go back to blog posts where I've commented as well to make sure I don't miss a reply. I figure if the author has taken the time to reply I would be remiss if I don't see it. After reading your post I think I'll make it a point to consider acknowledging it, if need be, and continuing a dialogue. I dont frequent the most popular of blogs, for similar reasons as you indicate. I know many of the them would spend all day replying to individual comments and I'd rather not be just another "notch" on somebody's personal blog bedpost, if that makes sense. I do the same. I've noticed one blogger who seems to regularly delete their blog posts before starting a new one and not responding to the posts the previous one has attracted. Not sure what they look to gain from doing that, so that was one to avoid.

Great post!! I always take the time to answer back to all the nice people that comment on my Blog. It's nice that they show interest.
