Just numbers on a dial. Time to go to bed, time to get up, time to go to work. Before the invention of the clock people just followed a natural system. It got dark out you went to bed, when it got light out you got up for the day. Work started before anything else, you had to draw your water to wash and cook with, or to feed and water animals . etc. Today most of us don't do that, water comes out of a pipe in the wall, and most if not all of us don't do much animal tending. Ben Franklin came up with some great ideas in his time, but Daylight Savings time wasn't one of them. When he first introduced it to his fellow colonists, it like his idea to use the wild turkey as the national bird didn't fly. It wasn't until the nineteen forties that the country as a whole embraced the idea of day light savings time. In an effort to ramp up production and save fuel during the war years. Frankly I can't see how getting up later or earlier helps? If it's dark out your going to turn on a light no matter what the clock is saying. As for feeding and tending animals yeah show me a cow or a chicken wearing a watch and I get behind the daylight savings plan. Animals don't care what time you feed them as long it the same every day their happy. Yeah the time ( Pun intended ) has come to end daylight savings time. With people working around the clock, working night, working swing shifts, or during daylight hours Falling Back or Springing Forward an hour, just to get a few more minutes of light seems pointless. But what do I know? I'm always in the dark when it comes to things. Any who, time for me to hop into the shower, I'm an hour early today but the clock says I'm late already...

There are regular campaigns to permanently move from GMT to BST all year round. While that may be great for those living in the south of the UK, it would result in the sun rising at near 10am in the north of Scotland in winter. Sure it would affect a smaller number of people, but the effect would be bigger on those people.

For years we went to work in the dark and came home in the dark. Cowboy worked 10 hours a day while I worked 12 to 16 hours a day. The time on the clock is just for tracking hours now. Dawn and dusk are it
