With having the holiday off I lose track of what day it is. Tuesday feeling like it's Monday and so on. Well, Monday..er Tuesday went pretty good at work. The place wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I guess a lot of the tenants went on holiday someplace and weren't here to make a mess. I did my morning routine, then finished off the unit I'd started on Friday last. I was really just biding time till the eight yard dumpster got here and I could get started on getting rid of the ever growing trash pile of furniture out by the dumpsters. Of course the dumpster didn't arrive till after lunch, so that meant I had to do another unit, a one bedroom up graded place. Yeah not much to do in there. Single tenant, only lived here a year and mostly just ate out a lot or ordered in. So not much to do but wipe the place down to make it clean. After lunch I tackled the pile, one snag, the dumpster was dropped off in the wrong place and the guy who dropped it off left it too close to some parked cars so I couldn't open the door at the back to load the trash up. Bother, with the whole lot to choose from he dumps it off in a place that doesn't work. So, biding more time till the owners of the cars blocking the door can be located and more still till they come to move said cars. Till they did I started breaking down the smaller stuff and tossing it into the smaller dumpsters. That didn't take long, a few dining room chairs circa early sixties, or late fifties. A couple of dressers, and a few twin mattresses..and the small stuff was out of the way. By then one of the cars that were blocking the door of the eight yard bin had been moved. Time for the real work to start. Well I moved two couches, along with three broken reclining chairs, by then I was covered in sweat, it had to have been ninety degrees out there at least. I'd been told by the boss that he'd send out the new guy to give me a hand...yeah that didn't happen. Oh, he came out...dumped a load of canned trash in one of the smaller dumpsters that he'd bought out from the shop. Then just as quickly left again. Nothing for it, I've done the job before by myself and went back to moving the bigger furniture into the bin. Just as I'm setting another couch in there one of the guys from the Demo Co. that has it's storage yard for all their big demo machines behind the complex drives up on a fork lift..and asks me if I need a hand. I guess the boss over there saw me sweating my ass off and took pity on me and sent one of his guys over to help me out. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I thanked him and said that'd be a great help! It took him about an hour to move most of the bigger stuff into the dumpster with that fork lift. As I moved the piles around so he could get at them better, pulling couches etc. off of each other so he could get at them better with the forks. As I said took us about an hour or so to get most of the big stuff packed into the bin till it was too full to take any more. There's still stuff out there, but I'll have to wait till they pick up the full bin and leave a new one to be filled. Most of the stuff left will be easy to load. Mostly mattresses, and few couches left. Before my helper left he asked me if I wanted him to leave the fork lift out so that I could use it to get the rest of the stuff moved when the new dumpster got here? He told me that he'd teach me how to run it...but with the way things vanish around here and never having run a fork lift I told him thanks, but I wouldn't want to risk it being taken sometime during the night, or me breaking the lift as I tried to operate it as a novice. I thanked the dude who helped me out several times...before he took the forklift back over to their storage lot. His help saved me some back breaking work in heat that would of had me dripping puddles. Mind you I still had to pull off my shirt like a banana peal when I got home last night, and my undies looked like I'd worn them to swim in. But it would have been worse if I hadn't gotten the guys help. As it was I had to sit nude in front of a fan, with my AC running full blast just to cool down enough to put clean clothing on after I'd taken a shower to get the sweat off. So, how was your day? Speaking of showers...time to hop into one for me..the rest of that crap isn't going to move itself....

I think the fork lift guy liked you. And learning how to use it would be a great help to you. The walk to his yard is better then loading dozens of furniture pieces alone. Have a fabulous day!
