She chose me

I see her
Talking others across the room
The lady I crave
Graceful, elegant
So composed, so confident
I imagine myself stealing her heart
Then I catch a glance in the mirror
I am nothing she would want
Not handsome
clothes
Not popular
So I walk away
Finding solitude on a balcony
Seeing the lights of the city
Against the night sky
I sense a presence behind
I turn and see her behind
She asks why I didnt say hello
Why I walked off alone
I told her i did not want to interrupt
Her friends wanted her attention
She sets down her drink
Looks into my eyes
She says she wanted MY attention
She has wanted it for ages
She could have any man she wanted
I told her so
Obviously there is one man I want she said
And I am with him now
I pull her close
And I kiss her
Deeply
My dream comes true that night
I have stolen her heart
And she chose me above all others
