Lonely writing

Silence within the soul
Overwhelming my night
Wishing for a connection
With someone
Anyone
Someone to talk to
To spend time with
To learn about them
I put myself out with my words
My passionate prose
Very few respond
Perhaps I am uninteresting
Perhaps I bore those that read
The silence can be deafening
Here now is my realization
That my works are still my passion
But I need to accept that very few
Will read
Even fewer will respond
And even fewer will want to know me
Beyond what I write
I will not stop writing
But i will stop wanting that connection
That will never happen here
