The Break In

I awoke in terror last night.

Something had tickled my face, startling me.

Half asleep.... Half awake.... I brushed at it thinking it was probably a stray section of hair that had fallen across my face. My hair is getting pretty long again and I am a side sleeper.... Then I felt it again.

I opened my eyes and screamed in terror, I was not alone.

Nobody is prepared for a moment like this, no matter how tough, how brave. Every instinct in my body screamed 'FLEE', yet, I was frozen in place.

I couldn't even blink.

It moved it's leg and suddenly my trance was broken. Hopping out of bed, I screamed again at the giant spider that was now crawling across my pillow.

"Oh MY God! Oh My God! Oh My God!"

Both were at their dad's house, it was just me left to take care of this monster. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure I could see it holding a can of Muscle Milk and random weight.

Grabbing a paper lunch sack, I stuck it in front of the spider and slid it under it's legs, forcing it in, immediately rolling the top down. Bag and all, I threw the spider over my balcony into the yard.

This fucking thing was huge.

I have seen large wolf spiders before, they are all equally disgrossting and make my skin crawl... But this one is by far the biggest one I've ever seen. I may never sleep again.

Spiders are definitely one of those things that make my skin crawl, especially the big ones. Ugh!

    Yikes, I don't like spiders

the other day, I saw a tiny spider that had trapped a much larger spider in his web, that was so weird

    anyway

I'm with you on the spiders, "Run away"

    hmm

    be safe

    David Bowie - "Ziggy Stardust"

    Ziggy played guitar,
jamming good with Wierd and Gilly,
    And The Spiders from Mars.
    He played it left hand,
    but made it too far,
    Became the special man,
    Then we were Ziggy's Band.

    Ziggy really sang,
    screwed-up eyes and screwed-down hairdo
    Like some cat from Japan,
he could lick 'em by smiling
He could leave 'em to hang
He came on so loaded man,
    well-hung and snow white tan.

    So where were the spiders
while the fly tried to break our balls?
Just the beer light to guide us.
So we bitched about his fans
and should we crush his sweet hands?
I just heard this song on the way home from work today. I've never paid attention to the words before.... I wonder how many other songs out there have lyrics about a spider.

I have read that too. I also read that the Daddy Long Legged spiders are one of the most deadly.... Their fangs are just to small to bite.
never heard of a wolf spider; not even gonna google it. now the daddy long legs i have heard of and in all honesty they look completely harmless. but thanks for the heads-up on that joker! lol! i know all these insects help the planet but some things are like why, God, why?

Damn... I'm sealing all my doors and windows with duct tape and 'Goop" and spraying a trail of 'RAID' along all potential openings in my home.

Jeez... Hang on second - do we even have spiders up here ?
I know where I can find one to send you.... LOL Just in case you think you're missing out.

I felt something bite my leg one night, reaching down I felt something rubbery. I threw it away from me and turned on the light to see a large garden spider limping along the wall. It's hard to sleep after that even though you know it's dead.
I just googled what they look like. OMG!! Yikes!

I've got a large spider tattoo on my right forearm but that doesn't mean I'd like to make friends with one!
I'm okay as long as I don't see a spider bouncing rather than just walking across the carpet!
I'd think the spider tattoo would scare the other ones away... I've read that eucalyptus will keep the spiders at bay. I'm going out and buying a candle tomorrow.

this probably won't help you sleep at night either; read a snapple cap that said ALL spiders are poisonous, some are just more poisonous than other. really? ALL of them
