Oh coffee.....

You elixir of the Gods.

I did not sleep well last night, spent most of it awake, tossing and turning. Finally got up at 5:30 and said Fuck It, might as well start my day.

Two loads of laundry done and the kitchen cleaned before 8am this morning.

I can think of a few other things I'd rather have been doing.....

Alas, that wasn't the case.

Back to coffee, though.....

I read an article about the therapeutic abilities of coffee yesterday.

Have to say, I was totally surprised!

I didn't start out as a coffee drinker, it's only been the past couple of years that I've really even given it a chance.

But, a convert I am, none-the-less.

So, I was reading the article and found out it can help to prevent heart disease, Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, liver disease, decreases the effect of depression......

How did I not know this sooner?

For someone spends the majority of her free time reading and researching stuff, I completely missed the boat on this one.

On an absolutely unrelated side note: Just saw a trailer for the movie Terminator Dark Fate.... And Linda Hamilton is nearly unrecognizable. The woman has NOT aged well.

I loved T1, enjoyedT2&3, but pretty much lost interest in the franchise after that.

I fairness to Linda Hamilton, she's in her mid 60's at least. I haven't looked at her IMDB page recently.

As to coffee, it's definitely therapeutic for me, I'd go insane without it

I recently discovered "z"quil. I have to say they were not kidding about making sure you have 8 hours for sleep. The only side effect for me has been very vivid dreams, guess that can be both good and bad
I've always been hesitant to try sleeping pills / sleep aids because of the dream thing. I have some pretty terrible nightmares and part of me is afraid I wouldn't be able to wake up from one if I needed to.

when i really have an issue trying to get to sleep, i take a benadryl. yes, i know it's for allergy symptoms but there is enough diphenhydramine in one tablet to make me drowsy and fall asleep without a lot of effort.
I never have issues falling asleep.... It's staying asleep that gets me. I'll sleep for about 3 hours then wake up.... Wide awake. I'll toss and turn for a while, thinking if I try hard enough I'll fall asleep. That never works so I end up turning the tv on and laying there, thinking. That definitely doesn't work.

I should give it a try.... I know the Tylenol PM and Melatonin aren't working. I was told, once upon a time, that my sleep problems are a result of my anxiety issues. I can hide it well, during the day.... There is no where to hide during the night when all you have is your thoughts.

    i read linda had to lose weight for that terminator role. finally a terminator movie worth seeing. i didn't really bother with those other spin-offs though. btw, i was up early too, to pee. and i'm dog sitting this weekend so the pooch saw movement and i guess he thought he may as well pee too. (SIGH) man, it was so cold out. i didn't get my coffee until 8am. thought i'd try going back to sleep but it didn't happen. like you i had the same "other things" on my mind happyf;
T1 and T2 will always be my favorites.... I'm hoping to get a nap in this afternoon, we'll see what happens. I usually end up getting stir crazy and venturing out to see what kind of adventure I can find.
