How you make me feel
Each time you come through the door
I finally resign myself to the notion you’re gone for good
After all, you’re gone
For a good long while
And then you show up at my door
And all those feelings of longing return
And I smile at you
I can’t resist
The look in your eye
That smile
That charm that drew me in
In spite of how hard I resisted you
And then you go away again
And it feels like forever
And it feels like you’re gone
So long
And I resign myself to the notion that you’re gone for good
And then one day you show up at my door
And I want to believe that you’re back for good
But I’ve learned to expect that you’ll be gone again before long
