Put in a tough spot ...and I don't like it
Put in a tough spot ...and I don't like it I more or less retired back in 2011. Just for fun, A couple of years ago I took on a position as Property Manager for a shore condo resort. It's a very easy job, and very part time this time of the year.. This morning I saw a good friend of mine who owns a construction company and his crew tossing out construction material into our dumpster. I didn't mentioned anything to them. I took photos and pulled video of them in the act. I sent am email along with video to the HOA Board president who I work for. Now wondering if I should've mentioned something to my friend first. To late now... I own a condo there and was going to have my friend redo the kitchen and bath this Spring. Now thinking all bets are off. He'll likely want to charge me double now. I was put in a tough spot, and I don't like it... ~Holly ~Holly Atlantic City, NJ |

Your job comes first and before anything. you manage the property. you work there. therefore you have the right to file a complaint. If he is a "Friend" he will understand very clearly. I mean they were doing something wrong after all. they created that. not you. Besides, if he is a honest person. he shouldn't have done that. cheaters do that cause they have no principles when they think no one is watching them. Maybe you are better off going with a different contractor for your house projects. Honesty is the best tool and the best policy.

Does your friend know you mange those condo's? If so then he should have at least asked you if it was okay for him to use your dumpster. Also if he knew then he was taking advantage of your friendship. Remember he was the person in the wrong not you even if you could have handled it a little better.
