Just Chats And Laughs May Be Okay A Poem

He reached out to me
It was a very poignant message.
It did reach my heart
As he was undergoing
Some health issues.

He wanted a woman
As a friend
And companion.
I felt his earnestness.
At times I had
Felt this myself
Wanting such a connection
Mental and emotional
And not just physical.

I loved chatting
Getting to know him
I enjoyed his sense of humor
And shared many laughs
When he employed it.

If that is all we have
Great chats
And laughs
I think we might
Just be okay
With that.

As more intimacy
Would mean one of us
Was not coming from
An equal place
One of us may just need
More than the other
Can give.
And we don't want
That decision made.
No, not yet.

 decisions sometimes must be made, and other times best to let them fade, unmade as days pass to weeks, until decision you can live with your mind meets, for there is rarely rush to decision make, if you are chatting and laughing and one is ruled by fate.
