Smudging
You were nothing but smoke and mirrors
reflections of light
and warmth

A mirage
I liked to much
to let go

I thought of you this morning
as I stretched out my arm
and the sun grabbed it
and slashed at it
like a knife
causing me to lose sight
momentarily
and I thought of you
in the bed we laid in
many times

Mr Smoke and Mirrors

and I wondered
how your latest love
is doing

a lost bird
fallen from the nest
with broken wings
and heart
gutted

like you once left me

I closed my eyes
and fantasized
of dancing in sage
with feathers extending
from my hands
of hawks
of eagles
of the pea,cock

SMUDGING

the negativity
from my life
dancing still
amongst smoke
surrounded by the mirrors
on my wall
hearing the words
about who is the fairest of all
and I decided
we all are
for everything
has its purpose
even a mirage
its direction simply
to what we want
so go get it
you aren't a prisoner
fly ---- live. Love

Mirages
have their moments
and live in them, all the same
Then return to their lives of
cutting against the grain

I may of once been blinded
but now I see
I'm happy
I'm free
and I'm happy
to be me.

 some smudges in the mirror need more than just Windex to be removed

the smudges, just like everything else in life, provide lessons and loves.... and pave the way to a future with eyes wide open and crystal clear vision
