Sucrose Neonates - Trust me, it gets more interesting

Some recent observations about those who require compensation for their time. Post is in first comment.

A few years ago, while living in Richmond, I created a profile on SA; it was intentionally devoid of content. I did this not with the intent of finding a sugar baby, but to see if the woman I was chatting with at any one time had her own profile, soliciting a sugar daddy. Just like any dating site, the members could be stratified into certain groups. There were the exceedingly lonely, who saw the site as a last ditch effort to find love. Some were out of work trophy wives, looking for the good life and someone to tell them they were pretty again. There were some who obviously were in need, financially. Then, there were the mercenaries; 'you will pay me for all my time, including the first meet and greet'. To be blunt, I find the transactional nature of the whole SD SB thing to be distasteful, but it works for some people, so to each his own.

On to the real point of this entry, which is the respective numbers of sugar babies here in KC versus back home in Richmond. I just checked the site a few minutes ago to confirm actual numbers and can report the following. Using the same search criteria, which was women between 39 and 60 (wanted to weed out the kids and fakes), within 50 miles of a specified location who'd been on the site in the past week. Keep in mind, the 50 mile difference not only covers Richmond, but a few other nearby cities, such as Williamsburg and Newport News. That should inflate the Richmond number or at least skew it slightly. However, what I found tonight was as follows:

KC - 106 hopeful sugar babies
Richmond, VA - 33 hopeful sugar babies

KC has over three times the number of wanna be sugar babies! Keep in mind, the Richmond search covers much more total population. I have my own theories why the numbers look the way they do, but I want to hear what others think before I share.

What are your thoughts?

More wealth in KC?

Just the opposite, actually. Richmond has a massive amount of old money. Trust me, there's a ton of wealth in the area.

But I think you hit on something...

Women between 39 and 60. I thought sugar babies were young college age women. Around 20. The rich old farts go for those more than a middle age.
Or did I miss something?

Traditionally, you're right. My 39-60 bracket was my existing search criteria, which I didn't feel like changing. Plus, there are so damned many fakes within the college age strata that the data wouldn't be meaningful.
But I have wondered a few times who considers the 55 year old woman to be a sugar baby. I'd have about the same luck trying to be a boy toy, at my age.
