There Are Real People Here!

Often times, people online forget one or two major things about online
communication, based on what is happening to THEM at that moment.

First, many people forget that there are real people behind these nicknames.
There are real people who feel real pain and cry and have bad days and cry and
take offense at something due to their OWN lives and cry and and and - did I
mention cry?

One day in a chat room, many years ago when I used to use the IM programs, a so-called Master (more than likely a kiddie dom) - I suppose in order to feed his overwrought ego - lambasted a poor submissive who was not only new to the Internet and new to chat programs, but new to her just realized submissive nature.

She got on the microphone and was crying, big sobs and obviously in some real
pain. Believe it or not, the kiddie dom in question apologized profusely.

Yeah, I know what some of you are thinking, the submissive/slaves saying,
what? a Dom Dom apologizing, no way! And the Dominants saying, admit weakness or
the extremely remote possibility that One of Our Brethren made a mistake????
Heaven forfend!

But that is what happened folks. I was there.

He actually stated that he didn't know how anything as harmless as what he said
could cause that much anguish. And, no, no storybook ending, no relationship
leading to BDSM heaven or little D/s running around or anything like
that.

The point is, you do not have any idea, usually, what that person you are 'yelling' at has been going through - that day, that month, that lifetime.

And the second point is that words can hurt, can cause real pain.

Sometimes, even the best of us, can say something just a bit too harsh, a bit
to cutting, a bit too forceful. We might think it is 'cool' to use our
rapier-like wit, our cutting edge rancor, our almost blasphemous like
indignation to make a simple point!

It is not necessary, but more to the point, it can hurt unintentionally. And it
is that 'unintentional' slight that we often justify in the name of the fight
against mediocrity.

Leave the mediocre alone, please. They have feelings too.

Words can be used to hurt, to help, to caress, to teach, to intensify and to
pulverize the very psyche of Human Beings. Using them should be an<b> enormous
</font></b>responsibility - and that responsibility should actually be felt, palpably....

So, think, care, and be responsible with your words and your appreciation of
the other person, online, just as you would offline to someone's face.

After all, the 'nose' you save may very well be your own

This is so true. You never know what someone has gone through, is going through and yes, words can hurt. They can sting, burn, cut like a knife and people bleed. You never know, what you say to that person may be the only thing that person has heard that day and.... may be the last thing that person ever hears.

you are so very very right! And, biting as it is to say, it really could be the last thing someone ever hears! Thank you for a great, meaty comment!

Arcan I so agree with you on your statements. I have always treated the people I meet online or off as I want to be treated. Nothing really different here for me.

Well... I feel you.
I do not chat... I only read blogs... and sometimes I comment.
But I always skip commenting on blogs which have condemning intent.
Few times I come across lady bloggers (especially those seemingly popular ones) aggressively poking fun on male profiles and emails.

Okay, reckon some males might deserve it.
But some of us are ordinary members, with restricted access, trying our damnedest way to meet a lady friend.... ending up being called stupid or idiot just because we are amateurs trying our best to please. -sigh-

I wonder whether these smart-ass ladies realize we are real people and we have feelings too.

I think the sentiments expressed go both ways, or should! Thank you for your comment.

this is a interesting post, not just in a dom/sub role but in everyday life, people say things without thinking the long or short term ramification of there words because this is a anomalous world...words do matter...great post

some times the things that comes from between my ears makes me pause for reflection

Very interesting post I guess people on here with limited access who are not silver or gold find it really hard to hookup and meet. There are so many ways to find someone oh here. I bet they have not even try their local Meet and Greets from passion. Great way to meet real people. ty for sharing hugs V

Be happy!
