Private is Not "Private" - Blocked is not "Blocked" We all know something buggy has been going on with this site lately (dead times where no views/comments are recorded or posted, profile/blog view counts diminishing, older contacts being reduced to a single page and some instances no older than a day, etc ...) However, I recently noticed something odd happening with the photo sections on my profile. I have 2 folders or albums; 1 for my profile photos, the other is "Private" (not even my "Friends Network" have access). What was odd, is that there are 3 times as many views of my "Private" album as appear on my profile album! Some photos in the private section even have "likes" attached to them. When/how this is occuring, I have no idea, because I've even turned off the feature to "notify when I post updates" on my general preferences. I posted this on the community support blog, where two other people responded they noticed the same thing. I contacted a friend, and THEY found over 600 views in their "private" album, also with "likes" attached to some. Soon as we post photos to our profile, no matter if they are private or not they well be accessible to all cause of the feature "Activities". Another feature they offer that doesn't work so no point of selecting private cause it's not so private any more. I've learned, if you don't want it to be viewed by others but friends don't uploaded it, share via email. Also if you have videos posted and you've blocked someone they are still able to access them via (what's hot videos) another bug in their system. Solution...turn the video to private if you don't want it viewed by members you've blocked Forewarned is fore-armed! Use caution. I don't see you got a private album. I had remembered seeing on quite a number of members album that were set for private being appearing visible on their profile under 'My activities' on their profile. You might wonder why I know it private? Well, because when I click on their nail thumb size photo it don't show me the photo big or go to that album. SO I think that how you got the views or like. You might want to check on your activities setting. I had questioned about this before on the discussion live group, last year or the year before(just don't remembered). Because when it private, it should not be showing the nail thumb image on the activities of that members. But never got an answer. Is that private album of yours name 'More of Me' still exist? I can see that on your pass activities only it showing me zero photo.

missingu2012 replies on 2/23/2013 7:21 pm: That's the album name "More of Me".... What's odd is under my profile preferences, I have turned off the option to "notify of updates/activities". Make sure you check the 'Activity Preferences' properly. That the preferences you want to appear on your profile. Look at the screen shot if you don't know which I meant. If you did check to show 'Upload a photo to an album' ****this is what now I see the problem now. if you read the 'Please select the updates you would like to share with other' that other did not specific network friends, to me that mean members on the site. So, I now see why even if you load a photo to your private that could be why it show on to the profile page. Just my thought and opinion why that happened.***** [image] The notification and activity preference that one is not for your profile page. That for your homepage and the notification on the top bar.

I had also followed Cherimore (or someone else's) advice on my previous post about site monkeys. I thought it had solved the problem. Apparently not. One of my blogger friends recently posted that the owner of this site was experiencing major financial difficulties, and the shares were dropping in value daily. I tried to find his post, to pimp it here, but he has left blogland and removed his posts. Will the "founder" coming back to clean things up mean that the owners really "care" about their members? I think not. I think all they care about is the bottom dollar, and how many are going into their pockets. There is one thing you can try to do. Go to you profile and click button to remove on those activities that you don't want to show, then click to more view older activities and click on those older activities you don't want to show. That might solve the issue. Why I was you to try that? Here is what had happened to me. I had set that when ever I post a new blog post that it show on 'My Activities' on my profile page. That was before the remove button was added and was working fine and showing. Then the 'Remove' button was added, I decided to test on the button, and click removed on some of the blog post away because I want some of the comments to show up thinking it better the member interest look in my blog on the member who comment. Since After that it never show me posting a new blog on the 'My activities' on my profile anymore even i did not change the setting until this day. Maybe that might do the trick. I had talk to the before community name Ryan it never got fix until now, already coming to 2 years. DId not bother anymore. I never talk about it until now.
