Angels, The New Year, Cold Weather, & Sushi :-)

Hey all!

I know it has been ages since I was here and blogged. My apologies to those who follow.

I was busy with the holidays. My favorite time of year.

But, I also had some revelations and realizations in my life that put a lot of things into perspective.

In November on one particular night, our furnace quit working. We didn't realize this until morning when we woke up with the and the house was cold. The furnace didn't just "quit", the pilot was off, but there was no gas. The Mr. re-lit the flame and had to turn the gas back on! Well it wasn't working right, so he stayed home from work and had a furnace guy come look at it. He told us that it was the worst furnace he has seen, and that we are extremely lucky that our house did not burn down or blow up! He turned the gas back off and told us we needed a new furnace asap and under no circumstances were we to turn that furnace back on.

I am still stunned by our story. We had a guardian angel looking over our family that night. Or several angels. At any rate, we are very lucky and I am grateful. Beyond grateful. We are blessed.

We had a very good holiday. I loved the snow we got on Christmas Eve. It was magical.

We rang in the new year with family as always, and it was great.

We have had some cold weather, which of course is normal for Montana this time of year hahaha. But I am "feeling" it this year for sure.

I was diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) in late spring of last year. For those that do not know, it is actually an autoimmune disease, rather than the "arthritis" that most people think of. The cold has had me in a lot of pain. I am on meds for it, but they lower your immune system because it is a low dose of chemotherapy. So every time I start taking it, I end up sick with something and on antibiotics, so I have to quit taking it for awhile. So I have only been on it for as long as three weeks max before I end up sick with this or that. This means that I am in a lot of pain. My hands, fingers, wrists, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, and feet all end up hurting. Not all at the same time however...but my hands, fingers, hips, and feet have all been hurting equally lately.

This is on top of my back problems. I also have degenerative joint and disc disease in my spine. Which is why I had the cortisone shot. Then I ended up freaked out because I had my shot during the time that bacterial spinal meningitis outbreak happened because of contaminated injections. Luckily my state was not included, but I was sent a letter anyway with symptoms to watch for etc.

Lots of fun huh? lol

Sometimes it is all I can do to get out of bed some days. Due to pain and fatigue. But I keep positive. I have to. I have a family to look after and take care of. The Mr. is such a loving partner to me...he takes such good care of me. He helps out always, and is always so concerned about how I am feeling. He really makes me feel special and loved. I am very lucky.

I have been starting a plan to re decorate my room, because it has sort of become my sanctuary. I spend a lot of time in my room, so I want it to be comfortable, cozy, and my little spot of happiness lol. So that is my goal for the next few months.

On to the sushi now!! My BFF taught me and my how to make sushi, and we are totally addicted now. It is our new thing, to have movie and sushi night with our "fams". We don't do the raw meat sushi though...yuck! We do the veggies and crab meat. It is sooooo delish!! We have our own sushi set to make sushi now we are so hooked! Never thought I would like it, but she proved me wrong lol.

But I am happy, I am in a good place mentally. I am trying to keep up with exercise, but my body has not been cooperating lately. Especially when just walking around the grocery store is a difficult thing anymore. I keep my faith that I will find the right meds to put me into remission though. I am still young, and I can do this. I have de-stressed my life, and it feels so good.
I know what is important to me and what is not, and the rest doesn't matter.

I have not set any resolutions for the New Year, but to just keep doing what I am doing and be a healthier and happier me.

I just need to catch up with everyone's blogs now and its will all be good. Sorry for the lengthy blog. That is what happens when you are away too long.

Peace!

Yea!!! Welcome back!!!

I am very grateful nothing happened with the furnace. That sure would have been a horrible tragedy. There are angles and they were looking out for you and your family for sure.

Best wish in the new year.

And...welcome back you too!!

Sorry to learn about your RA. But at least a white Christmas eve and a safe family (furnace) have made up to an extend..
