Loveliest of Trees, The Cherry Now

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
is hung with bloom along the bough,
and stands about the woodland ride
wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my threescore years and ten,
twenty will not come again,
and take from seventy springs a score,
it only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
fifty springs are little room,
about the woodlands I will go
to see the cherry hung with snow.

A. E. Housman

Great poem I'd never came across it before.

There are two kinds of light, the glow that illuminates & the glare that obscures. James Thurber

English Poet and Professor of Latin, born in rural Shropshire.

One of those poems I had to suffer thru in college (not true; I did enjoy poetry in college, not so much in high school).

The few we have in our area don't look that great.

    Blue....
I've heard that. I try to photograph them whenever I see some.
