I just finished reading another comic that I figured I would not enjoy and, boy, was I wrong!

I don’t expect this to interest any of my readers, so this one is really for me.

As I’ve mentioned so often, I’m an avid reader, and a serious comic lover; been buying comics since my first pay-day out of high school. Been reading since before I started going to school.

Marvel Comics “Ultimate” line of comics is more a re-imagining of some of their earlier ideas, and a more violent, “for the mature,” type of comic.

There is this comic titled “Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk” which I’ve seen time and again but wouldn’t read because I didn’t think I would find it interesting. Then on e day I happened to see who the author was. Now this is a comic that has been out there for about 3 years now and I have little or no interest. Talk about ‘judging a book by its cover.’

The author was none other than Damon Lindelof, him of “LOST” fame, one of the guys from the J’J’ Abrams’ stable. You might have seen his name on stuff like “Fringe,” “Person of Interest” (if you like great TV shows), “Star Trek” (the re-booting), “Prometheus”, “Cowboys and Aliens” and another TV work that was going to become one of my favorites, until I ran out of time “Once Upon A Time.”

Anyway back to the comic: Turns out it’s one of the best comics I’ve read in ages. Now I’ll have to pay more attention to the author before I dismiss my books.

It has all the violence, thrills and intrigue that I would ask for in my comics. Only problem is I have no one to share in the excitement with me. My friends don’t read comics and my lost interest years ago, and my wife prefers to get her comic book information from the movies and television.

Been a long time since I read comedy. Personally I only have access to comedy through movies. Thanks for sharing, Teyjj!

I very rarely get to read comedy anymore. Usually I find them by accident.

I try to have my interest wane by finding other distractions, but it never last for long. I did manage to stop buying for about 3 years, but I went back into it during the summer.
