Counterfeit love
Counterfeit love Dont ask me where this idea came from. It was during the drive up to move furniture. I jotted a text to a friend to remind me what the idea was and now i am gonna try to wrestle the beast our of my mind and onto the electronic page. I am interested in the notion of counterfeiting love. Or the emotion we all feel is love. Do we have the ability to give a false notion of love? I think there are a tonne of us who have been faced with the problem of a partner who has told us after a date or two that they loved us. Maybe it was after that first sweaty naked encounter and he breathes it into your ear in mid stroke. Or maybe it is at a birthday or valentines day early into the relationship on a fucking hallmark card of some sort. I know we can mouth the words but the real trick is can we counterfeit the feelings and behaviors that go along with it. Can we be the pseudo loving person? When you look at counterfeiting it is the making of a fake that is almost as good as the real thing, so logically counterfeit love must be almost as good as the real thing. And if that is the case then how many of us are fooled by the counterfeits? How many of us are in counterfeit love with someone or being love by someone counterfeitly? More importantly though is how many of us are happy with this? |

interesting that those chronicly afflicted with the counterfeit thing are really only hurting themselves in the end. but thanks for confirming what i was thinking. may the next love be true for you.

In mid Stroke.. I would think that what he is really saying is, I'm so glad you let me do this and it feels so great that I have to say "I love you" .. not love at all.. just words to say what you can't express. i'm a cynic.. i dont believe it when someone says I love you.. unless it's a child.. There are always double meanings to the words.."I love you"...Espescially if you just gave someone some money, and they say.. Thanks.. I love you.. It means.. thanks and see ya.. you'll never get this money back... Looking forward to a good year ahead!! Stars_light4U

i probably had my first marriage filled with it too.

I had a woman tell me that she would marry once after a single week of dating.... so maybe 3 face-t-face meetings. That was strange, and felt fairly counterfeit.

A very interesting post! You bring up some good questions. I dont think I've ever dealt with counterfeit love nor have I given that to anyone.
