I used to smoke long ago. Best advice I can give you is don't give up,don't go for just for one quick smoke, just drop it all and don't even allow yourself to think it's ok to have just a quick smoke. Addictions have very similar processes and cigars are no exception.
Think about something you can and would like to do and take your mind of the cigars when you feel like having one - after some days you won't miss the smoke.
As for not smoking again what I learned was that for me: I had to go thru all life's processes again without smoking to learn to live them without smokes - i.e. having big argument with boss or friend, something bad happening to someone close to you, getting tipsy, engaging in a new relationship, and so on. Every time I went in a situation i had dealt before while still smoking would make me wanna smoke, but after I went thru it without smoking the sensation didn't come back again.

Hope I was able to share something positive.

Best wishes and fingers crossed for your fight!
Go for it!

A warm Hello to You miss traineeslave59..Well,I too was once a quite heavy smoker, who used to light up right after a run,a meal n coffee..which is about 10 sticks a day..seriously..which i think is not a heavy smoker..Thou' still addicted to it..But then i was a 30 year old bloke, who needed an excuse to stop the habit..with no girlfriend and have friends who still smokes..so,i once heard over the media and the good dj is still around. He was commenting on how to stop smoking..Well,he said,If you don't smoke for a year,It's as though you have not smoked for about ten years..and If you stops for about ten years..It's as If you never did started smoking at all..and slowly everyday,i took half the cigarette..and something happens to me that i promise the Almighty that If i pulls through,i'll kick the habit once n for all..and so it have been some 20 odd years now..N Here's wishing you a complete break through in turning your lungs cleaner & healthier..and your appetite will improve too..so does every taste buds..
