New Group Page Beta Test
New Group Page Beta Test We've been working on a new Groups main page (similar to the new blog page) and are now ready to show it to you all for testing. We want to roll this new type of design out so we get consistency in all our great features. (Copy&Paste URL: http://NoStrings.com/intgroups/acview_member_main.html?celltype=trending_groups) Remember to remove the space in NoStrings in the URL. Like the new blog page view, this new view is also optional, with the classic view not going away. You will be able to set your default view for Groups as well. Take a look at the new look and share your thoughts with us. Thanks, everyone! |

Just check. What I noticed first on those trending post on the top page of the list was all advice line posting. How is that Advice line post mix into those group posting?

I don't care for the trending or random or recent posting on group. I would just use the classic view.

Thank you Aryana. I just checked and saw still there. Maybe it take some time to get all those from advice line exclude from the group page. Just show the beta new group homepage but only the top part of the page. Would see more on the rest of the page and other page. [image]

Hello Sabrina, Yesterday, when I test on this new group page I did not try click the 'Make this my default group page' Button since I don't care for other page to be my default. And I did not see the problem you saw. Well, this time(a new day), I go to the test and I just test click on that button 'Make this my default group page' while on trending list page that open when on the test. I see now what you see. Even I log out and log back, Trending list stay as my default unless I click to go to classic view. There is no Default button to click to make classic view page my default. This other quick link page had a 'Make this my default group page' button accept Classic View group page don't have that button. I thought when it a beta testing, we suppose to goes back to not the beta testing mode after we left the page or log out and log back on later. But instead I am stuck with the new group style page unless I spend more time to click to go the classic button. So, Aryana, can please add the missing button for classic view 'Make this my default group page'. TY. ***The new beta style for group page today still listing advice line posting which don't belong to group.***

I agree with Sabrina, i will keep my groups page on the classic view. I only wish to read group threads from the groups i'm a member of so no need to see any trending group posts.

To chat in a group, you need to join the group you interest. You can check on group to the Group page. There are groups that no one use the group chat room. But you can still join the group wall post that interest you to post or maybe you have something to add to the posted topic or you can post topic related to what that group you join is about. This is how to join a group you interest. 1. Click on the group name. 2. The group page open. 3. Read the information posted about that group then you might see username of of Associate Moderators of that group. 4. Next below it, you see 'Join Group' and you can add a note about yourself or skip. Then on the right of it, click 'Join this group' But if you see Group chat room through 'Adult Chat room' page and interest to join any of those chat room, just join the group by clicking on the group name like was explained above. But there are group you can't chat right away, unless you post on their group wall and wait for a certain period of time before you can join in their chat room. Once you a member of that group by clicking to join the group, to use the group chat room(if there is no restriction by the group Moderator rules as mentioned above), You will see 'Group Chat room' and click on the chat room link and you be in that group chat room. Before using that group chat room, be sure to read if the group have restriction what you can and can't do in the chat room. If you not follow their rules, the moderator or associate moderators of that group would ban you from their group. Hope you can understand what I am saying.

Ooops! if you access the site through PASSI0N.COM and copy the link you will be directed to a DIFFERENT web site called PASSI0N.C0M.C0M (note they are zero's not the letter O in the links). remove the second .C0M in the link... otherwise this seems like a good idea... I must explore the groups more.

What is the point of creating something new when you're leaving the old format? Why was this option not offered for the Message Center, which a good number of members still hate, find inconvenient and not easy to use? Another waste of resources, where the resources could've been diverted to fix the issues where most people are complaining about.

Another waste of resources, where the resources could've been diverted to fix the issues where most people are complaining about. The new message centre is still the number one complaint i have about this site, it is now more of an issue than the fake profiles. I think the site should really concentrate what resources it has to fixing and improving the message centre, instead of change for change sake on areas of the site that work fine and no one is complaining about.

What issues specifically do you still have trouble with with the message center? Are there bugs that prevent you from using it? These are from the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

I don't think the groups should be approached in the same way as the blogs because the groups tend to appeal to smaller social circles. When I look at groups, I want them to be either local or based on a subject that I'm interested in. The list of trending posts and active posts is just too random for me to find groups that I have an interest in. I think the problem with groups is just low interest and low participation. If more local groups, interest groups and meetups were encouraged; I think it would help.
